We are looking for a Systems Engineer with DevOps qualifications who has experience with systems administration and software development to join our team. This exciting position is responsible for helping our customer build a new platform with cutting edge technologies to support the next generation of space and satellite applications.

You'll be in a key role to help influence decisions being made and contribute to the greenfield development of a Platform as a Service used for ground satellite software. This new platform will be used to deploy and mange new and heritage applications developed with languages including Node, Go, Java, and C++. Supporting these applications running in this new environment requires a solid understanding of containerization strategies and incorporating Docker in a production environment. Security is the keystone of any information system and this project is no exception, keeping security practices in the forefront of the design and deployment of this project.

This is a remote position but will occasionally require travel around once a quarter to Boston, MA and Colorado Springs, CO.

The minimum clearance requirement is Secret.

Compensation package includes base salary and benefits. Base salary depends on requirements for education/degree, skills, and professional experience. Annualized base salary range for this position is: $90K - $160K

• A degree from a 4 year university or accredited program in a related field of study
• 3+ years professional experience related to software development, operations, and/or system administration
• Systems administration with RHEL 7 / CentOS to include an understanding of systemd and package management
• Must have experience with managing and deploying Docker containers
• Effective use of virtualization and cloud platforms, along with demonstrated understanding and usage of cloud services

• Using version control tools such as Git
• Practical understanding of use of functional tests and automated testing tools
• CI/CD and pipeline management using Jenkins, Circle CI, Bamboo or related tools
• Automating configuration management with Ansible, Chef Infra, or Puppet

Additionally, skills and experience with any of the follow technologies is preferable:

• Managing container deployment platforms such as Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShift
• Using Source Code Analysis tools such as Fortify
• Experience with functional and unit testing tools including Cucumber, Gherkin, Tox, or Eggplant
• Compliance analysis and instrumentation using SIMP, Chef Inspec and similar tools
• Familiarity with developing scripts or programs using Bash or Python
• Understanding or experience with directory and identity management services such as DNS, Active Directory, PKI, and IDaM
