Description:

TapHere is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented junior and mid-level Systems Engineers to join our C4ISR team in the Maryland NCR. The primary duties are to administer and support large Command and Control (C2) installations in virtual environments in lab and operational environments and to provide software configuration management for the system(s).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

•Providing customer support in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of computer systems programs, software, and operations to ensure that systems are functioning according to design specifications. This includes providing technical support and diagnosis to resolve system problems at both the design and implementation levels.
•Providing analysis and documentation of users’ functional and data requirements, and analyses and studies complex system requirements.
•Participating in the development of new systems and/or tailoring commercial products to meet user requirements.
•Participating in the development of and conducting tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
•Participating in the design of software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.
•Participating in reviewing existing programs and assisting in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.
•Tracking the release of new software and documentation, downloading new releases, testing and verifying functionality and compatibility and providing recommendations of the applicability of new software releases to various system baselines.

Experience Required:

•BA/BS degree or equivalent with at least 4 years’ experience or at least 10 years applicable experience.

Skills Required:

•Extensive UNIX/Linux administration experience (required)
•Knowledge and experience with GCCS-J and VMWare administration (required)
•Candidate should be a self-starter, with ability to work alone or as part of an integrated team.
•Strong oral and written communications, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent judgement and self-motivation.
•Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP and HTTP) (preferred)
•Knowledge of Windows Server administration (preferred)
•Experience with military C4I applications (preferred)
•Prior military experience (preferred)
