TapHere! Technology is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented Senior Software Engineer with a DevOps focus to join and lead our dynamic development team in supporting a Government customer. The team is building a large-scale enterprise application using web technologies, distributed computation and storage frameworks, and sophisticated, cutting-edge domain analytics, with the system hosted on virtualized and cloud-computing platforms. The Senior Software Engineer will work both independently with little supervision as well as engage with a team.

Essential Functions:

The Senior Software Engineer participates in a DevOps team in a lead role as well as a DevOps engineer in implementing DevOps methodologies into an Agile software development environment.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer with a DevOps focus:

• Providing leadership and collaborating with other engineers to plan, design and develop the DevOps environment that includes cohesive CI/CD pipelines
• Supporting the entire Software Development Lifecycle with an emphasis on build and release management via automation
• Analyzing continuously the DevOps environment for technical and process improvements (e.g. integration of security measures, faster security and software updates, improved automation, reduced glitches and software failures, etc.)
• Deploying updates and fixes, providing technical support, investigating and resolving technical and network issues
• Promoting DevOps as a culture

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and 9+ years of experience with Java development, OR, a Masters degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and 7+ years of experience with Java development
• 3+ years’ experience in a DevOps role
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or GovCloud
• Experience with continuous integration, build management, and automated test frameworks
• Experience with standard automated deployment type tools (Ansible, Jenkins, etc.)
• Active TS/SCI security clearance

• Experience with Space Systems highly desired
• Experience developing software using the Agile/Scrum methodology and tools:
o Tracking and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence
o Repository and version control tools such as Bitbucket and GitLab
o Build automation tools such as Bamboo, Maven, Ant
• Experience with virtualization software such as Docker; orchestration service such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring platforms such as Nagios, Zabbix, etc.
• Experience with artifact package management tools such as Nexus, Artifactory
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• RHEL and/or CentOS system and/or network administration
• Experience with elastic or containerized solutions
